Once figured out, super easy. I bought to help repel whatever it is that ate all my flowers last year. They are shiny and reflective which was one thing I was looking for. I also wanted them to spin, however not sure they spin in the wind. The actual entire pinwheel does rotate because I find them facing different directions each day but I have yet to see the pinwheel actually spin. I do currently still have the flowers and strawberries so perhaps they do help repel whatever was eating them in the past.
