I rolled to no more than an 1/8" covering a good section of the counter, and it worked beautifully. I always say follow manufacturer's instructions, but sometimes a little experimentation can yield surprising results. I truly hope this helps someone having problems with stone staining. It made it look so much worse I now need to get a company to repolish and live with a larger more nasty looking stain than I started with!!! If I could give the product a negative score I would because it did the opposite of what was promised. I want my money back!!
