Some reviewers said they used it on the back of quilt fabric, so it's not scratchy?** A: Sorry I used it in making bags and pouches. I haven’t noticed it being scratchy at all. I like it for the bag making. Firm but pliable. Sorry I am of no more help. **Q: Single or double sided?** A: Single sided **Q: Is this product archival and acid free? Considering for home made book cloth.** A: I don't know if it's acid free or archival quality. I can tell you that clothes I've sewn with this specific pellon have lasted, some over 30 years, as opposed to, for example, stitch wichery which seals two different pieces of fabric together like a sandwich and as it's laundered decays a bit. It becomes wrinkly and you need to press hard with the iron to straighten the wrinkles out. This pellon, if applied correctly, does not bleed through to stain the fabric with its glue, washes well, and can last basically as long as the fabric you use. Also you need to keep in mind the type of fabric you'll be using. Does it decay quickly in a humid environment, like say silk, or will it withstand it like say linen. Hope this helps. **Q: Is this rigid interface? I need it to give rigidity in back of limp lace ruffles around throw pillows. Or is there a better product for that?** A: This interfacing is good for a soft, movable job such as neck facings, edges that need a little definition, strength on plackets that will have buttons or buttonholes. For your needs, you may want a non woven fusible interfacing. It will be strong enough to keep your lace ruffles standing. However, be advised that the interfacing will be seen through the holes of the lace. I would honestly not use interfacing at all. If the pillows are for decor and not use, check Mod Podge. It will harden the lace and keep it rigid with no change to the colors, although when you first put in on the lace it will look milky white, when dry it will be invisible. But as with all new things, test a little bit to see if you like it.
