While I am not going to say these are completely safe, after reading through articles it is important to note that the two chemicals in the collars have been around for 30 years and gave been used as flea/tick treatments for that long. We have no evidence suggesting that there is a danger to humans when used correctly. While I generally do not use flea products of any kind, this year, after not needing anything for over 10 years, is a bad year. I tried Frontline and it did nothing but turn one of my cats into a heap of sores. We are using this collar from here on out until the fleas are eradicated. Just use it correctly and for the least amount of time possible. Treat your home. Keep cats indoors. **Q: can i wear this? i am a humanoid.** A: In all seriousness probably not. But at the same time I actually had a Bayer rep come to my school (I was in a Vet program) and he wears one to all the seminars he goes to in order to prove that it is safe.
