The Colored world. The...that stuff happens in families all the time world. I have every single story she has published and Never get enough. These characters are our Mamas, Aunties, Sistahs and Brothahs along with the chil'ren! Now, that nurse Kim is a sneaky one ain't she? I mean isn't she? How many G'mamas raise kids in the hood? Plenty! Gotta respect them all. The crack addicted daughter...could happen in anyone's family. The incarcerated brother...again, so true. I'm loving each page and in not on 128. A full review when I'm finished. I'll be back...I'm back...a lil late but here. Wow! An incredibly true and uplifting story. The twists, turns, family interruptions of all sorts, had me thinking how can this woman make it through another page...? This book is one we need to pass on to a family member or friend. It never loses it momentum and that credit goes to the author. In the end, I was happy for every character because they all deserved some sort of happy! Thank you Ms.Terry!👍🏾 ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ A Change is Coming. *by C***B on Reviewed in the United States on December 28, 2015* The members of "Turning Pages Book Club", enjoyed the chapter titles which introduced each person and their connection to the book, which was done exceptional well.This book is funny at times, although it starts off sad, it keeps the reader hopefully for a better future for two young boys who start off with nothing, but given love and support end up being the shinning stars their Grandma (Mrs. Betty) knows they can be, with help from the community and friends.The storyline has many twists and turns with each character that comes into this families lives. You see the growth and potential of each person as the story goes on, and to spice things up she adds a "Nurse Kim" who place her part from the beginning until the end .The title to this book however for us does not seem to connect to the storyline.Ms. McMillan is a true story teller and did not disappoint the members of Turning Pages Book Club.. ### ⭐⭐⭐ Disjointed Beginning; But Comes Together For A Fantastic Ending *by J***E on Reviewed in the United States on November 17, 2013* I must begin by saying this book was selected for my book club, U.S. G.I.R.L.S., December meeting.Due to the "initial" repetition of the same "scene" being told from different vantage points, AND an unnecessary sexual encounter in the beginning; if this book had not been assigned, I'm afraid that I would have put it down somewhere around 20%, never to be picked up again.Thankfully, I was "forced" to continue reading and the book began to mold, take shape, and capture my attention with its colorful prose and character development somewhere around 45%This is a book (with numerous characters) about family and friendships - you will laugh sympathize, and empathize with the characters; but mainly this book will make you stop and think about relationships between women, particularly sisters.
