(She is a large husky/german shepherd mix) The bristles pull on her and she sees brushing as a punishment. It does pull off a lot of excess hair. She still sheds like crazy so I sometimes suspect the brushing may stimulate hair growth. The price was reasonable and the brush (despite rough treatment), has held up well.The brush does temporarily reduce loose dog hair. Sensitive skinned dogs will hate it.
