Tried to follow various instructions on YouTube with not great success so took the approach to roast by continually reviewing and adapt the temp based on how the beans were looking. The roasting took around 10mins in total. Coffee connoisseur may cringe at my amateur efforts but the coffee came out with a smooth taste, plenty of creamer and didn’t have a lingering taste. Some people put them in the freezer to stop them roasting. lots of YouYube videos on how to do all this! **Q: Can you grind this raw and simply add boiled water? I am trying to avoid acrylamide that is in the coffee once roasted m** A: if you have a professional coffee grinder I'd say yes, but as a one off. The beans when green are super hard due to the hydrogen bonding of the water content and with repeated grinding you will damage your blades. You can, however roast the beans only a little bit to let some of the water evaporate, say 5 minutes until they just about start to turn white-ish. You will achieve white coffee, which is a thing by the way. It should in theory minimise the content of acrylamide and make the beans soft enough to put into a grinder. I have done this before and once the beans turn white, there is no issue in grinding them. i wouldn't put them in the likes of nutribullet, though. Better to have a decent coffee grinder.
