Review: Superior to Crisco in every way and NO SOYBEAN OIL!!! - I have a daughter who has developed a soy allergy over the past year. One of the things she enjoys (as we all do) is a family recipe for chocolate cake with chocolate fudge frosting. The frosting calls for 4tbs of shortening, and is brought to a boil and then cooled in an ice-water bath. So I was looking for something with a melting point very similar to Crisco in order for the solidification to work properly. This product fits the bill nicely. An added benefit is that the taste is vastly better with the absence of an oily taste from the soybean oil. In fact, it is VERY reminiscent of pre-1980's Crisco before the heavy use of Soybean oil to make the product cheaper. After using this, I don't think I'll ever go back! I highly recommend it.
