Either way, if you follow the instructions they mould ok, just need to make sure the ear Bud isn’t too big, I stick with the silicon plug as the foam is too big.. **Q: How long do they last before they need replacing? Or are they a lifetime product?** A: Once formed into your ear, they lose all pliability and become (for me anyway) the most painful ear plugs I've ever used (30 years and counting). They lasted a week before I had to replace them with something softer. Note-i was wearing them inside a crash helmet. Shame. **Q: Can you use these for swimming .** A: Never tried them in water, just for noise blocking, but they seem to be a bit too hard for swimming.
