We had tried the "three day potty training" technique and it was a disaster. My son would pee in his underwear and just keep playing with his toys. He didn't care that he was wet. The potty patrol diapers really gave him a connection between the peeing and the potty. He was 3 years old when I ordered these. I used them in the evenings after daycare and on the weekend and I would say in a week he had it. I got a potty seat with a large front shield that works for an older boy (Pi yo Pi yo potty) and just kept that in whatever room he was playing in. When the alarm went off we went straight to the potty. At first, it was to late and he did not pee in the potty at all. As time when on, when the alarm went off, he would stop going then finish on the potty. I even let him play outside in the yard and just took the potty outside with us as well as on our boat. The alarm was loud enough that I could be 20 feet away or in the next room and still hear it. So while he was watching TV, I could do other things like empty the dishwasher, ect. I found it very hard to try and stay right by him and watch to see if he was peeing or not when we tried with just underwear. The alarm diaper really helped because It is hard to pay that close attention for that long. Not only did it remind him, but me as well. With my son, the alarm would go off about every three hours. My son is a little behind other kids his age with some of the developmental milestones including talking. I feel like this product really made a connection in his brain between the peeing and the potty. Eventually he just started asking to go pee. He was about 40lbs when we got these and they still worked, but wouldn't for much more than 40 lbs. The box says good for up to 40 lbs, so this is accurate. I have to say that the first time the alarm went off, my son took it off the diaper, put it up to his ear and said "hello?". I was thinking this was not going to work, but he eventually lost interest and forgot it was there. I found it easiest to have him just in the diaper when we were working on the training. I would recommend just getting the first box and wait to see if you need a refill pack because the learning happens very quickly! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Purchased the refill kits didn't need them because the starter kit was plenty!!! *by I***Y on Reviewed in the United States πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ on February 3, 2014* I purchased the starter kit and TWO refill kits because I thought I would need additional above and beyond the starter kit and I assumed I could use whatever was leftover for night training. I have a newly 3 year old boy who fought me tooth and nail on potty training and even just sitting on the potty. He also has minor sensory issues. With this diaper system by day 4 he was telling me when he needed to pee before the alarm went off. He was trained by day 5 with an accident here or there. I still have 5 diapers left from the original kit also!! Here is the even BIGGER kicker for me... He night trained himself also at the same time... since using this system even though I put him in a reg diaper to sleep in (just in case) he wakes up dry from every nap and from sleeping at night. He once in awhile wakes up to pee in the middle of the night otherwise he holds it and pees as soon as he wakes up. This blew my plan out if the water for using the remainder for night training!! Also the best part of all of this is this... We are ALWAYS ALWAYS on the go.. we never stay home and I was able to use your system on the go instead of being miserable and barricading our self in the house which would have made things even worse! This was seriously the easiest transition EVER!!!!!!!!!!! I tell EVERYONE I meet about this system and he was so proud of it when he was wearing them he wanted to show EVERYONE his alarm. The hardest part was transitioning him into underwear because he loved the alarm diapers!! I wish I could give this 100 stars!!
