Don't seem to be showing signs of excessive wear and have been worn for well over 2k miles. Padding feels decent enough. The knee & hip pads are removable if your going out out and don't want the slightly large kneecap or hip look. I'm a mere 5'7" (172cm) and 32-33 waist. So I ordered the 34" waist and 30" leg. Absolutely perfect fit.
