Don't them get oxided ?** A: Some Amonia , sea salt a container and something to keep the scales above the solution I'm the container. I do this to all my copper knives, lighters and other copper edc items. The patterns are beautiful. The bright blues and greens along with the darker patinaed copper parts makes for an amazing visual experience. You should see the PM2 with copper scales I just did. Its one of the pretty knives I've ever seen. The intense bright blues and greens literally look like water in a lagoon or in the Bahamas. The darker spots have deep dark purple hues and the more bare if color spots have antiqued copper colors and rich browns. It's truly spectacular with some salt, ammonia and some time will do to copper. It will take between an hour and 24 hours to do the job. Time frame is not and exact science. Check on it every hour and when you are happy with the colors take it out swish it around in a bath of water and baking soda then wash it off and let it dry. Be gentle when washing it off so you don't knock off any of the coloring. Once dried then you use a good quality spray on clear coat. I will clear coat mine anywhere between 5 and 10 coats depending on what it is. If its something that is used a lot and I fidget with like a knife or a lighter then I will get 8 to 10 coats of a high quality clear coat so it stays super clear and is tough to stand up to being handled a lot. If its something like a challenge coin that's not played with/handled hours apon hours each day then it will get 4 or 5 coats. Main thing is just use a good quality clear coat and not a 1 or 2 dollar can of clear spray coat... good clear coat that will give you the preformance your looking for will cost around 10 to 12 dollars a can. Now if you just want the bright shiny polished copper like it will come from the factory simply clean it off with 91% alcohol or acetone to get it 100% free of skin oils/finger prints and then 5+ coats of a high quality clear coat and you will have that bright shiny polished copper from now on. **Q: Where is this knife manufactured?** A: China **Q: It just says "steel" do we know what kind of steel it is?** A: D2 Tool Steel for the blade on our copper Natrix series. **Q: Is this for the bigger Natrix copper xl?** A: No it's the standard size. It came in great condition. It is just going in my collection because I found a different d2 steel knife at menards for 7 dollars. I think it is a good addition to the collection though. Didn't check sharpness, sorry. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ A Real Bargain *by L***X on August 11, 2022* Awesome knife, esp for the money. For $71 you get solid copper handles, nice blade, ball bearings, pocket clip, etc. I own a lot of expensive knives but this is one of my faves now - regardless of price. The solid copper fairly quickly starts to patina (real copper always does) which is just another plus. My only little issue is that closing it one handed is not as easy as I would like. Final note, it comes in really plain packaging. Why? Kershaw doesn’t have to charge you an additional $5-10 for fancy packaging that we always throw away. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Copper scales give it a lot of heft. Quality build *by C***. on March 29, 2023* The media could not be loaded. I love the weight the copper gives the knife, but you might not want to carry it daily for that same reason. The detent is a little on the strong side, but not nearly as tough as other Kershaws I have. Blade centering is spot-on.
