It's not a corrosive and it works great on keeping the filters clear of oils and scum. I would definitely use it in an above ground pool. You might call or e-mail the manufacturer just to be sure. **Q: How much clarifier should i add to my 1800 gallon pool floor maintenance?** A: Using the 2 ounces per 10000 gallons of pool water ratio you would be using 0.0002 ounces per gallon of water. 1800 gallons times 0.0002 = 0.36 ounces of clarifier for your 1800 gallon pool.
