The description technically says 1 inch square, but it's an irregular shape since it's chipped or hammered (seemingly) and not cut to size. It looks more "natural" that way and I'm sure is far simpler and cheaper for the seller to source them that way. It seems to be big enough to demonstrate the colors and texture etc, but I won't claim to know a ton about geology or this particular specimen. It is useful for science classes or others interested in geology. However, it is not 1x1x1. While the one I received was one inch long, it is not one inch wide or thick. I think the product description is misleading.
