Review: Good Stuff, And Only Slightly More Expensive When On Sale - I bought a case of fairly generic synthetic motorcycle oil but a friend convinced me to pay twice as much for Motul. I change the oil once a year, so even though the oil is much more expensive per ounce, it's only a few dollars more per year and insignificant compared to paying the dealership to mess up an oil change for you. I didn't notice that the shifting was any better with Motul, but it wasn't any worse. After a week or so, it seemed maybe a little better. I have no way to quantify if it's better for the engine compared to the full synthetic oil I've been using, but it's red! That's gotta be good for at least 5 horsepower. I just bought a second jug because it's 25% lower in price, making the snobby red Bavarian oil only 1.5 times the cost of the plain Jane US synthetic motorcycle oil, so I stocked up. I like having the supplies ready so I can do an oil change whenever I like. Wait for the discounts if you're price sensitive and Motul isn't much more expensive per oil change, and the spout on the jug is probably worth the extra money.

I bought a case of fairly generic synthetic motorcycle oil but a friend convinced me to pay twice as much for Motul. I change the oil once a year, so even though the oil is much more expensive per ounce, it's only a few dollars more per year and insignificant compared to paying the dealership to mess up an oil change for you. I didn't notice that the shifting was any better with Motul, but it wasn't any worse. After a week or so, it seemed maybe a little better. I have no way to quantify if it's better for the engine compared to the full synthetic oil I've been using, but it's red! That's gotta be good for at least 5 horsepower. I just bought a second jug because it's 25% lower in price, making the snobby red Bavarian oil only 1.5 times the cost of the plain Jane US synthetic motorcycle oil, so I stocked up. I like having the supplies ready so I can do an oil change whenever I like. Fantastic oil. Used it in a Ducati Streetfighter V4SP. I swear my gas mileage has gone up at least 3 mpg. Considering the awful mileage and a small tank, this is fantastic. Zero issues running it. Shifting is perfect. Running is quiet.
