I wanted this hand held can opener just in case our power would go out we’d still have something to open cans with, and for opening tuna cans. I needed an opener that would let the lid fall down inside the can for draining the juice off of the tuna.This is a really nice can opener. It has a nice stainless steel finish, really nice heavy duty metal. The handles are made of a nice hard plastic with a smooth stainless steel finish. The knob where you turn the opener is oversized which makes it easy for grabbing a hold of to turn. It turns nice and smooth. It is in no way hard to turn. I have opened several cans with it and find the gears to turn smoothly; it fits onto the can nice, and cuts into the can smoothly without skipping on the metal as it turns. It also has a really nice built in bottle opener right on the side where the knob to turn the opener is located.This would make a great can opener for anyone. You could take it camping, use as a back up to an electric opener, or just plain use as an everyday opener.
