As an avid musician and music listener, gamer, and, most recently due to the current pandemic, remote educator, I was looking for a headset that would cover all of my needs. These headphones delivered on everything I hoped they would.I game on PS4 and up until now have only ever used Sony’s Playstation Gold headset which was very reliable until one of the hinges recently broke. Initially, I replaced that headset with the newer Gold model, which as it turns out are much less comfortable than their previous design. In comes the Audeze Mobius… I had no idea what I had been missing using the Sony headset. The sound of the Mobius headset is so much crisper. They’re comfortable and extremely well-built.I primarily play first person shooters (FPS) like Destiny 2 and Apex Legends. I expect that the 3D audio of the Mobius headset is a major advantage in these types of games. My initial impressions have been extremely positive. Additionally, my friends have commented on how much better my voice sounds in party chat. Apparently, the boom mic provided with the headset is quite good! The one thing I wish Audeze could address in future iterations of the Mobius headset would be for it to be Bluetooth compatible with the PS4. Being totally wireless would be nice; however, that being said, the connection to the console via usb works well and keeps the headset charged at all times so that’s cool.After gaming with my new headset for a bit, I laid back on the couch and listened to some tunes. First, I threw on some hip hop and was immediately impressed by how detailed and clear the sound was. It had a real nice low end but wasn’t overly bassy! Then, I listened to some indie rock music I’ve written and recorded over the years. It had honestly never sounded better, even through high-end studio monitors.I’m looking forward to using this headset for many years to come and have already recommended it to my friends. The plastic on the adjustable headband has completely broken on the left ear, and the right ear a portion of it has snapped requiring me to keep it in place with tape.Audio quality is great and i likely can never go back from this style of audio; though even the general use has some issues.Microphone quality is generally poor, but i didn't really buy these for that so i'm fine with this.The audio quality is great for wired, though wireless is going to be worse due to limitations of bluetooth. The downside is this has a battery that can cause some woes with use.Firstly if you turn off your computer and don't turn off the headphones they don't seem to have a sleep mod and regularly i found they would just simply drain their battery overnight.The dials on the side of the left ear also function as buttons; one of which has a somewhat baffling feature of turning off the headphone's ability to charge, worst of all it seems this is a one-way change that will not reset until the headphones have been turned off/back on.The 3D audio feature is pointless, as it simply adjusts audio as if you were turning your head away from it. It defaults to "Auto" and i found myself needing to re-disable this constantly because auto simply just means on, and it would regularly turn itself back on if the headphones turn off. The issue is this just sounds bad and means if you're someone like me with multiple monitors you just end up getting worse audio for turning your head to look at something.The audio defaults to surround, which in itself is a bit annoying as many applications don't handle this well, some voice applications tend to simply give you bad high reverb audio; while others will correctly report stereo-only and give you correct audio. This is mostly a problem because this is the default and applications tend to not default support this and thus I found myself needing to also re-toggle this setting anytime the headphones needed to be turned back on.All of these are mild annoyances that feel so much worse when having to deal with the plastic of the headphones breaking so quickly. I'm not even particularly rough with these, this simply was basic wear-and-tear of opening them up slightly to put on/off my ears.Edit: Putting this down to a 1-star review. This headset hasn't made it 6 months and one of the ears has completely fallen off, the plastic simply keeps breaking, as a continue to tape/glue/repair each seciton another simply fails instead. The cost simply cannot justify how poor of quality this plastic is. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ 4.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic product, flimsy headband *by N***K on Reviewed in the United States on November 15, 2022* I bought this headset on a whim last year, and the price tag on it hurt, however I ended up not regretting the decision one bit. The sound quality has been absolutely phenomenal to the point where I can't really consider any other headphones and the mic quality is superb for chatting on Discord or in games. The only downside to this headset, and one that I have been dealing with for over a year, is the flimsy plastic of the headband. There's a small section near the actual headphones that's very thin and over time(not much time at all, I hadn't even owned these for a year when it first occurred.) it will crack and break, leaving headphones to dangle by the inner cables. I fixed the first break with super glue and it's held up pretty well in the months since, but now the opposite side has cracked and nearly broken with a small bit of plastic barely holding it together, but it won't stay on my head now that its loose as a result. And that's on top of the USB port apparently also starting to break as it constantly disconnects and produces a static sound if the cable is close to losing that connection, but hasn't actually disconnected yet, and the cable is still firmly connected.
