I have had Outward Hound jackets for over 15 years. I still have my original one, which had a better design than the current one, including pockets on the sides of the jacket. They changed to the current design a few years ago. It's a great jacket but will get waterlogged eventually if you do not treat it with fabric waterproofer. Wash it first with Grangers waterproofing cleaner, then when it's wet spray with Grangers fabric waterproofer and dry on warm for about 15 minutes (do this to your own rain shells also!). My only beef with this XL is that it is too big and long for my dog, whereas the large is too short for him. He is a long German Shepherd/Collie mix, about 75 lbs. He is 28 inches from the back of neck to the start of the tail. the large is about 25 inches when it's pulled up all the way on the dog like it's supposed to be. The XL is about 32 inches long. I have to return or sell one of the two jackets I got at a very good price. I am going to try and alter the remaining jacket since I paid so little for it.

This is the 6th Outward Hound Rain coat/rain jacket I have purchased for my 110 lb. Rottweiler.  Since we have a lot of rain in the Pacific NW so I use the jacket frequently.  The jacket/coat work for more than one season but I like to buy new ones every year for my dog.  When the others go to Goodwill the are in good condition..  The first 4 were rain coats and while they covered the sides better the new design has improved on the under belly strap and collar.  I bought another rain Jacket last season and paid about twice what I paid for this product.  I waited too long and could have bought it for $2. 50 less but the price was still cheap compared to the previous coats.  The free shipping was an added bonus.  I like the vendor who I also bought a rain jacket for my daughter's Mini Aussie about half of what I paid for this jacket.  Amazon has the best vendors and prices for this product.

Really cute & matched the booties I bought for my puppy.  This girth fits great but the velcro on the neck strap is kinda short /snug & will not stick.  My dog pulls when he's excited, the neck lets go & the whole thing rides back on him.  Such a bummer!  I don't know if this happens with others or mine is defective as the length & girth fit so well.  I have tried it several times in the rain so can't return.  My puppy is 18-19" girth, 13-14" length (neck to tail) & he wears a size 12" collar but buckled in the 2nd hole - weighs 15lbs.
