For those who prefer 24 hour clocks over 12 hour clocks. Perfect Zulu 24 hour time. Arms are silent - no annoying 'tick..tick...tick' noises. Also available in a white dial. These clock movements require a quality brand name or high alkaline battery. Always check to ensure battery is placed in the cradle correctly (+ to + and - to -) and then give it a slight 'roll' to ensure contact is made.

**Q: Is this clock open-able.**
A: open back with the battery compartment not covered for easy access to the battery and time adjust knob-thing. As for the face not sure, I never wanted to expose the clock hands.

**Q: I like to replace the picture on the face with a custom picture of earth. Is the face cover able to be removed via screws or otherwise?**
A: Yes.  You can change the dial by removing the lens.  Flip the clock over and you will see 3 plastic nibs.  Push them in and down to release the lens.  But note any tampering or damage to the clock dial or movement will void the manufacturer’s warranty.

**Q: Is it possible to swap hands so short hand is for minutes and large hand is for the hour?**
A: no, the diameter of the three shaft the hands attach to are different sizes, due to the seconds had shaft being inside the minute hand shaft that spins inside the hour hand shaft. the stack of shafts inside shafts makes impossible to swap the hands with other ones, also the attachment of the top seconds hand looks to be permanent compressed/splayed like a rivet. for normal use a non issue as the clock has been working 24/7 to this day aside from downtime from swapping the AA battery.

**Q: does the face stand out in dimmly lit room**
A: Yes, it should.  I have one in a large room with a single lamp on and I can see the numbers.

This purchase came about because of the confusion between those who think in 24-hour time (for example, the military) and those who haven't been exposed to it - like the spouses! After a lifetime of using it, and it's "odd" (to others) language (zero nine hundred = 9 AM, or fifteen hundred = 3 PM), it was fun to tease the wife - and non-offensive - for a reasonable price. Actually, few users of the 24-hour system, use a clock marked this way, just a clock with the "normal" arrangement of a 12-hour circle with smaller numerals for 13 to 24 under the bigger font, but it now hangs in the workshop, happily ticking off the hours in Greenwich Mean Time, and we laugh about it. There are no windows where it hangs, and I like knowing if it is AM or PM, with a quick glance. So there!
