I use them for scraping paint and sanding the remnants in my old house. I never have “white boogers” (from the white paint) when I use these. Hard labor like scraping paint in place will be a bit more difficult because I think some carbon dioxide remains in the mask with the high respiratory frequency of hard labor. Some people say it’s like altitude training. I did notice that after a solid week of the scraping and sanding (my idea of vacation) that my trip home from a hair appointment was a lot easier pedal over the bridge. Normally I drop to 1 or 2 because I get winded, but that trip I stayed at 6th all the way over.
