I especially love not having to disinfect it after every use like an oral thermometer, and I don’t have to deal with buying refills or wasting plastic like with ear thermometers. Based on some general research, as well as other reviews I decided to give this one a try. I am pleasantly surprised at how easy it is to use - hold it against the center of the forehead, press the button until it beeps and slide gently to the left (or right, I guess) over to the temple. It'll beep a few more times, but is ready to read. I checked it against normal temps and also compared it with some known accurate traditional methods in fever situations; I conclude that it's one of the most accurate thermometers I've owned. The only caveat I would mention is that if the place it's stored is on the chilly side, the readings seem to be more accurate if I take a minute or two to warm it up under a shirt to point where it no longer feels cold to the touch. Not sure why that is, but for me it produced the best results.
