Screen is bright blue and gives battery voltage reading and degree of charge. Also gives percent load. For example, if you have a 4kw inverter and the screen reads 50% output, then you are using 2kw of the total 4kw. Also displays input voltage and output voltage if you are hooked up to shore power or a generator. The screen light will turn off after 15-20 seconds and you have to press a button to turn it back on. This is to conserve power. The Remotelf does not do that however, using Ohms Law or some simple math you can calculate that value. Use the Inverter watt rating ( ie 2000 W ), multiply by the percentage ( ie 25% ), equals 500 Watts. Take the 500 and divide by the battery voltage ( ie 25.6v ) equals 19.5 amps from the batteries. Same formula using the AC voltage, too. Use a calculator and the exact percent and voltage amounts. You’ll be very close to the actual current. Marvin B **Q: what kind of cable does this require? phone (4 wire), CAT5, ?** A: Any 8 conductor wire terminated with RJ45 ends. A CAT5 network cable would work great. **Q: Which cat5 pairs are used by device? i assume 2 for power (+ -) and 2 for data (+ -), but which one's?** A: Standard ethernet cable connections use pins 1,2,3 and 6 for data, 4,5 for (+), and 7,8 for (-). Do a search for ethernet cable connections / wiring and whatever you come up wit will explain it quite clearly. **Q: How can I tell what inverter I have?** A: I don't understand the question. I know this unit is used with the Aims power inverter but units that are manufactured after 2014. So far so good. ### ⭐ Absolutly Garbage *by B***S on July 31, 2021* The only usable feature of this remote is to turn the inverter on or off. It does not provide any other useful information other than that. The font is terrible too, and you can't read the screen from any angles at all.
