No matter how many wood chews I gave him, how frequently I put black pepper or lemon juice on the chew spots to deter him, or how carefully I wrapped fleece around the tray, he always found a way to chew through the plastic. Eventually I became so concerned that not only was he endangering himself by exposing the cage's thin, bare bars, making it possible for his tiny legs to fall through, but he could ingest the plastic and cause gastrointestinal damage, so I bought this metal tray. It appears to be very good quality and has the correct dimensions.
