**Q: Can I use this to attach speakers (with bare wire leads) to my (older) flat screen TV with "digital audio out" receptacles?**
A: Absolutely. Just make sure you put the left speaker to the left output and so on. 😅

**Q: What gauge are the wires?**
A: The wire of this RCA male plug to bare wire cable is 22 gauge.

**Q: Can these be used to connect subwoofer to AV receiver?**
A: RCA Male-to-Speaker Wire for low wattage output per receiver channel to a small bookshelf speaker, not good for big subwoofer. Suppose AV receiver has RCA female output to speaker set/up. Then, clip in or solder the wires to the appropriate positive (red) and negative (black)leads on the speaker. Suppose subwoofer has RCA female input and receiver has wire terminal output jacks. Then, connect wires to receiver’s output jacks to connect the subwoofer. Be careful about amperage, resistance, etc.. For example, high amp receiver output could blow the subwoofer unless subwoofer can handle what is delivered through this connector small gauge wire. I use the connectors for very small amp output to tiny bookshelf speakers and constrain volume of output to speaker to ensure I do not blow the speakers, with the first configuration. RCA plug on amp going out to wire receptacles on each speaker. See video for bookshelf speaker I can drive with 5 watt receiver using this connector, but the video shows the gauge of wire needed for 40 watt scale receiver output. That speaker wire is too big for my 5 watt receiver and these bookshelf speakers. Match wire and subwoofer and receiver accordingly. This connector is for small watts operation only.

The wires were as stated in the write-up. I did use one wire and it worked fine. I feel the actual wire gauge is a little small for a surround sound system. I changed my mind with my configuration and removed the unit I used. I will keep them for future audio needs. No issue with the wire I did use for a while.
