## Description

CRC SP-400 is a long-term indoor/outdoor corrosion inhibitor for machined surfaces and assemblies subjected to long periods of storage or adverse shipping conditions. It displaces moisture and provides a transparent, amber waxy film for heavy protection of parts, equipment and machinery. SP-400 is an easily removable film that will provide protection of all equipment subject to heat, humidity, chemicals or severely corrosive atmospheres. Resistant to humidity and salt spray. Provides heavy corrosion protection to preserve and lengthen useful life of equipment. Long-term indoor/outdoor protection. Protects for up to 2 years for long-term storage of parts, equipment and machinery. Easy to remove. Removes readily with mineral spirits. Review: Protects bare metal very well - This stuff reminds me of AMSoil metal protector, even smell like it! I applied it to several bare metal parts last fall and they survived the winter rain and snow with no corrosion. Smells bad and has a amber color, but it protects really well.

You can break the connection and out it back together and still have great protection. Won't wash off, and it drys which is nice. Doesn't get all over you like the red stuff .

## Questions & Answers

**Q: does this work on firearms such as rifles**
A: I'm sure it would, but it leaves a waxy residue.

**Q: What happens when applied surface gets hot (350F), does it melt, liquefy/burn off, or solidify/leave a crust?**
A: This product acts essentially as a paraffin wax after it dries. Therefore, it will “melt” at higher temps, but it is more durable than oil coatings. I would suggest if your product is typically exposed to temps above 100 degrees, a paint or powder coat would be more appropriate.

**Q: Description lists 'liquid volume 16 fluid ounces', but is only 10oz?**
A: The can I received was the 10oz.  FYI don't leave the produce in a hot area or it will ooz out of the can and make a mess. Good stuff otherwise.  I've been using the CRC Marine grade lately and it works great also.

**Q: could share me the safety data sheet?**
A: I done have data sheets. Give CRC a call or manufacturer or Amazon should have data sheet if they delivered product

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I hate rust!

This stuff is great for keeping your tools and equipment from rusting. Mine have been taking a beating out in my unheated garage, where temperature swings and humidity cause condensation to form on everything, so my tools look like they've been left out in the rain. Now I just cover anything susceptible to rust with this stuff. I thought I'd have to clean this stuff off before I could use my tools, but in most cases it isn't necessary. It's sticky and greasy when it goes on, but it dries to a thin film after a few days. If you have equipment like wheelbarrows or wagons that tend to get left out, and you hate to let them rust but don't have time to keep them painted, just spray them with this. If the surface is already covered in rust, this stuff just soaks in and keeps it from rusting further. Incidentally, a few months ago I laid some small metal parts on a piece of scrap lumber to spray them. When I was done I tossed it pack on the pile. Now I'm noticing that it hasn't weathered where the rust inhibitor is. This might be a quick way to preserve unfinished wood that isn't worth painting or varnishing.
