## Description

"This Toshiba 1.3 Cubic feet 1100-watt Black Stainless Steel microwave is the ideal size for apartment kitchens or office break rooms. The microwave is controlled through voice function and Alexa, keeping your hands free and engaged in more important tasks. Sensor reheating lets you optimally cook six of the most popular food items with the touch of a button, preserving your dishes juicy, fresh, and with intact texture or taste. Choose from ten power levels up to 1100 watts. The large digital display has a clock function and can also display a countdown timer as well as the cooking time remaining. Program up to 23 preset menus on APP and power combinations for additional one-touch convenience. Easily open or close the microwave with the large, easy-to-grip door handle. Also, the mute function can make you enjoy cooking without disturbing your family or roommates. Don't forget about other great features such as ECO function, 10 power levels, removable turntable, 1lb defrost, memory function, multi-stage cooking, child safety lock, mute function, and a clock and kitchen timer.

Review: Nice microwave, easy to use, no serious complanits but maybe a few improvments would be nice. - Got the 1.6 Cu.Ft version. I've read some other reviews that said the clock/timer display was hard to see, ours was very easy to see. There was one review that said the touch buttons were black on black, that's not true as they are a sort of silver'ish grey (like an aluminum color) on black and are easy to see if you are looking straight at them in a well lighted room. When you touch a button the actual touch point is very slightly up and to the left and not in the center of the button where its more intuitive to press. Plus it would be better if the silver'ish grey was white and not silver'ish grey, the 'wording/writing/numbers' for the buttons would stand out better if they were white. So my first suggestion for improvement is that the button press spot be in the center of the button where its more intuitive. However, this being said, its ok after you get used to it but I noticed my senior aged next door neighbor who came over to visit to look at the microwave because she wants to buy a new one, she tried to use it and it wasn't very intuitive for her slightly shaky hands not having a definite intuitive point to aim for. My second suggestion for improvement is that It would be nice if the controls panel buttons were lit. As it is right now even though the control button locations are visible in a well lighted room looking straight at them, in a more dimly lit room or are looking at them off axis (not straight on) they are not as easy to see to older eyes even though still visible if you look more closely and directly at them. Lighting them would help. Contrary to that implied/stated by the advertisement there is not a "one touch popcorn button as kitchen essential". To do popcorn without doing a timed cook by entering the cook time manually you use the 'Custom Cook' functions (page EN-25 - EN-26 in my manual in English). The one for popcorn is CC-6, you press the 'Auto Cook' button 6 times. But there is a problem with CC-6, and that is if you look at the manual you will see CC-6 is set up for 3.5 ounces of popcorn and this means if you use the 'mini bags' of popcorn which are about 1.5 ounces and use CC-6 that your popcorn is going to overcook and burn. For the 1.5 ounce 'mini bags' the cook time is 1 minute and 10 seconds and you need to set this manually and can't use a 'Custom Cook' function. I can't find a way to 'program' the 'Custom Cook' settings, and although I have not tried each of these settings with the items shown in the manual (or a comparable weight/portion of something else) to that shown, I suspect that anything outside of that manual listed 'weight/portion' would either over cook or under cook if a 'Custom Cook' setting was used. So my third suggestion for improvement is to allow a user defined 'Custom Cook' function to be programmed in and saved for recall later. Yes, I realize this thing costs ~150.00 + tax... so I don't expect 'super duper luxury' type improvements, and these suggestions I know would be ignored and maybe they could be viewed as sort of nit-pickey in some ways. But if you want a decent microwave this one works well and works as advertised except for that advertised "one touch popcorn button as kitchen essential" thing which does not exist.
Review: Excellent product! Just what I needed! - This is the finest microwave I have ever owned. It is remarkably simple to operate and exceptionally easy to clean. The heating performance is excellent, and its aesthetic appeal in my kitchen is superb. It offers a variety of quick functions, and I particularly appreciate the child lock and warming cycle. No more turntable! If you're on the dence about it, just buy it....It's worth every penny!

## Questions & Answers

**Q: where is the instruction on airfryer use in the manual found?**
A: On the Amazon product page I found a user manual. I had to scroll through a bit to find the link to download it. On page 27 of the manual there are air frying instructions.
My physical manual, that came with the box, did not have it in there.

**Q: The manual is sad. how do you airfry vs convect?**
A: There is no difference. In this microwave the air fry button is just a preset for convection at 400 degrees for 25 minutes. The preset can not be changed. Very rarely do I use the air fry button. I manually set the temperature and time when I use the convection button. That is the only way to "air fry" and have settings customizable. Air Frying is marketing hyperbole. It is simply convection cooking. Which one sounds more exciting convection cooking or air frying?

**Q: Description says works with alexa but does not. false advertising? that’s why i bought it**
A: Hello and thank you for your question about the Toshiba Microwave Oven. We are sorry to hear you are having trouble with the Alexa connection. Please contact us at 800-842-1289 and reference case number 111341191. Thank you. ToshibaCustomerCare@hartehanks.com (BBB A+ Accredited Business)

**Q: How do i fix the clock. every time it changes back. the time is always an hour ahead meaning it didn't get fixed for dst on the east coast ?**
A: I think I have the time change fixed. Updated the Alexa and MLife apps which didn’t fix the daily time change problem, then remembered that you had to use a 2.4 wifi network to get the microwave set up initially. Until I did that Alexa said the server wasn’t responding when I did the update. Made the change to my 2.4 network and it connected, and today the clock time stayed correct at DST. This is a terrible system for the Alexa connection but it seems to be working.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Best microwave I've ever owned. Never going back to a turntable!
*by M***A on June 2, 2026*

Best microwave I've ever owned. It's quiet. Heats well and fast. Easy to clean had it 3 months now. No complaints. I love how it keeps the fan running after to eliminate smells and condensation. Fits large and small dishes. If you're on the fence about a flatbed just do it. It reminds me of gas station and restaurant microwaves. Heats quickly and efficiently. Worth every penny. I did get the 3 yr warranty just in case. But so far no complaints.
