I am naturally dark ash blonde and have been experimenting with dying my hair platinum at home. I have mostly got it down with just a few tweaks. I have been using T18 to tone the roots for the past few sessions and it works great! At first, I felt like it wasn't working that great or my hair wasn't accepting it too well. After research, I figured out what I was doing wrong. After my bleaching session, I would use a conditioner, so I think that was blocking the T18. So the next session, I did not use conditioner after my bleaching session and I only used a vol 10 developer (instead of 20) and my hair turned a beautiful ashy platinum. Still very pretty but I was going more for snow white. I left it on longer than I should have b/c I thought my hair was resistant, so it was totally my fault.
