Used this to help stop snoring, which requires the full guard (upper+lower) and not just an upper or lower only. I used water at 180 degrees to soften it for 30 seconds. It molded perfectly without burning my gums, while holding my lower jaw set slightly forward. It worked great. The secret is to set the mold with the lower jaw slightly forward, about where the upper and lower teeth line up in front. I decided to get an anti-snoring chin strap as well to hold my jaw in place so the mouth guard would not fall out. This combo worked immediately. (I don't know that the mouth guard would fall out, but I haven't tried it without the strap.) The morning after I used it for the first time my wife said I did not snore at all. Try this before trying an anti-snore chin strap.
