It is not what I would call a mandolin slicer at all. It's a box with an interchangeable top for different grating options. It is cumbersome, and not very fast. Does not produce a pretty product in my opinion either. Not really what we wanted at all. It comes packaged in a very cute box. The slicer itself comes in a storage container that holds all the parts together in one compact spot. Inside the container is a smaller container that holds all the pieces you need to slice, grate, shred, etc. The main storage container also acts as a means to catch whatever you're slicing, grating or shredding so there's no mess. I had a bit of a hard time keeping a small block of cheese on the plastic handle that is supposed to protect your hands from the blade. The cheese kept falling off. Other than that, the blades did an awesome job of slicing. You can tell they are very sharp. It shredded carrots really well into small shreds too for some potato salad I made. It was fast and easy!My original storage container did arrive severely cracked but I contacted the company and they offered a free replacement, which we promptly received in great condition! Their customer service is very caring and helpful.What I found odd was the instructions on the back of the box. The way they are written, most of it just doesn't make sense and I honestly couldn't understand what was trying to be conveyed.
