**Q: Is this compatable with pasturized whole milk?**
A: yes

**Q: Is this glass lead-free?**
A: I do not know but i'm sure it is

**Q: How long can you keep the kefir in this container?**
A: As long as you could keep kefir any any glass bottle. Everyone ferments kefir differently, and some refrigerate more than others. I actually make my kefir with goat's milk, and after sitting in my fridge for a day I just pour it through the strainer lid, which I LOVE! I just add more goat's milk, and don't even clean the bottle but maybe once a week. This is a great container, I just wish I had found it sooner!

**Q: Will wide mouth mason jar lids fit the glass jar?**
A: No, it they will not fit. The Kefirko jar has a  slightly wider mouth

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Lid thread not easy

I recently purchased this lovely jar kit because I started making milk Kefir. The concept of the jar and description seemed like it would be perfect for my use. It's a beautiful jar with a great concept being able to allow air in while the kit fear is fermenting also having an upper lid to keep any insects out the strainer that comes with the jar looks like it would come in handy. Here is the problem I had, the lid would not fasten or screw on easily. Even when I got it on after minutes of struggling with it I did not feel secure that it would stay on without any leakage. Perhaps the jar neck needs to be longer or the threading or lid reworked. I purchased one and sent it back thinking mine was a fluke, but the second one was just the same and sadly I sent that back too. I see it has gotten high ratings, so maybe this issue does not bother most people. If the lid threading issue is resolved, and they make the upper cap so it can close with the straining handle on it, then I will purchase it again because it really is a lovely, sturdy jar kit.
