**Q: Does height include the wooden ‘tabs’?**
A: Thank you for the question.  The listed height of 32" refers to the maximum height of the barrier frame of the gate and does not include the extended tip of the vertical wooden frame pieces located on both ends. From the product’s regulatory and certification standpoint, the listed height represents the height which would actually serve as a barrier to a child.

**Q: Will this work on a 4 inch base board walk way?**
A: Thank you for your question.  Because the gate requires a flat, even mounting surface, this gate will not install properly if the bottom width is not the same as the top width.  Additionally, it should not be mounted above the baseboards and should be installed as closely to the floor as possible.

**Q: Do you make a 60 inch portable gate, which does not need to be permanently installed?**
A: Thank you for your question.  The North States Extra-Wide Swing Gate model 4649 is a hardware-mounted gate that allows it to easily swing it open and closed. It fits spaces 60"-103".  It can be found on Amazon by searching the ASIN 	B0002JETPQ.

**Q: Are the holes small enough a ferret can't get in?**
A: I think the holes would be too small for a ferret to get in but I am not 100% on that. The holes are 1-1/2” wide by 2” high. Hope this helps.

It's a baby gate. It works, it's tall, but they aren't built like they used to be. Prior to this one we had a plastic one whose mechanisms shattered after about a year of use. So we bought this one because we have another like it that one of the grandparents used on us as kids (i.e 30 years old) and it has stood the test of time; still strong and keeps my baby out of places we don't want him to be. So this has an improved locking mechanism which makes it easier to size up to the space you need. But the joints are weak. My (2 year old (25 months)) son was running toward the kitchen and not only knocked the tightly secure gate down, but broke one of the corner joints. The other (30 year old, wood frame) gate has been run into, banged on, kicked, jumped over (by us) and not even flinched from it's doorframe, just a little disappointed in the craftsmanship of today.
