It is water proof and heavy duty. I bought it oversize to cover my Zero Turn 26hp Riding Mower with 60" cut and I tuck the excess under the perimeter. This keeps the wind from blowing it off and if I tuck it right it will keep the chipmunks and mice from getting under it and setting up shop in the mower over winter. Believe it or not last spring when I uncovered the mower and started it for the first time, a mouse flew out the exhaust pipe followed by about a dozen acorns. Although the mouse was blown out with some force, he ran away apparently unharmed. Nice tarp and a good price.
