The tires are quite sturdy and drive on unpaved roads for short distances, the brake works well, the colors and look are superior to many others I considered purchasing.I feel my son is safe when driving this (with a helmet on) and would not hesitate to let his friends try it out.When he pedals fast, this thing goes fast! He loves it.My 9 year old petite daughter loves to take it for a ride, too! It is not too small for her to use.
