The are great at trapping lint so my pipes don't clogged. Yes you have to clean off the lint that gets trapped regularly - I do after each washing session. If you don't have to clean it that means the lint is going down the drain. I attached it to the drain tube with a rubber band. Works fine. Easy on and off. They worked great but were a pain to get the lint off while trying to clean it out. So I grabbed these for extras since cleaning those others took about 30 minutes to clear the lint from them. Anyways these came and they were huge in every way possible. About 8” long the elastic was so loose it had to be zip tied to the hose to keep it on. And they had to be cleaned out every week or it backed up the sink. The only thing I liked about them was they had some kind of slick silicone on the netting and it made the cleaning the lint much easier. It just peeled off in large chunks. But I went back to using the original lint traps as who’s got time to clean these each week (2 loads of wash a week) and you gotta keep a supply of 4” zip ties on hand to keep them on. That’s 4 a month. Wasteful if you ask me. The elastic needs to be smaller or tighter. Would I buy again?
