They are put under great stress and pressure while pulled back when the speargun is pulled back and ready. The line doesn’t fray and stays tied tight. It has great value for the cost and has outperformed a few other brands I was using before I found this one.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Will dyeing the cord have any adverse effects to it?**
A: I don't have personal experience doing so but it appears that some hobbyists have dyed Kevlar fabric successfully with Sumi ink. I cant imagine it would change the properties that much. It is amazingly strong cord for its size.

**Q: Does this stretch at all?**
A: Kevlar stretches 2% before breaking. If you have 100 feet and stretch it 2 feet it breaks. 

A ten inch piece will stretch .20 inches.

**Q: is the 700lb braid hollow core or parallel core?**
A: Straight braid, no core

**Q: what is the weight of the 750lb and 1000lb string per 100' off the spool?**
A: maybe 1/4 of a pound
