A: You don't "clean" the stick. It wears down as you clean the sandpaper just as a pencil eraser does as it is used to erase pencil marks.
Eventually, the sandpaper cleaner is reduced to a nub, at which point you Larry Bird that thing into your trash bin and then unwrap the new one you just received from Amazon.

**Q: Does it leave any oily residue that would resist water-Bourne paint ?**
A: It does not leave an oily residue.

**Q: Can this be used on wet diamond sanding discs?**
A: Don't bother. Doesn't work.
