Very soft and they apply makeup well, and they pick up shadows very well. The brush cleaner is easy to use and cleans all my brushes nicely. Great for when u don't want to dirty up your good brushes. They did have a smell when i bought then but it went away after i washed them good. Also the sponges work well too even though i didnt get them in the photos they work just as good as any other low priced sponge when applying face products.
