My 8 yr old wanted a "real" guitar for Christmas. This was small enough for him to mess around with but large enough to grow into for a few years if he keeps an interest. I had a guitar player from church tune the strings before my son got it for Christmas. I got this kit with the hope that one day I could teach my kid how to play. I was skeptical of getting a "beginners" guitar. So many I have played were simply unplayable. I've had the guitar for three days now and haven't sat it down. I've been playing guitar for over twenty years now, if I can appreciate this guitar, I know my kid will do the same.The strap seams to be well made and the bag well padded for protection. It comes with extra stings and a guitar wall hanger! The guitar's intonation is perfect, making this a great beginners guitar or travel guitar not a kids toy.The top wood grain has "dimples". Some may see this as a flaw, but I see it as character. The tuning ratio is what you would expect at this price point.
