It makes coffee and tea, Its just what I need!

*by E***E on Reviewed in the United States 🇺🇸 on January 19, 2015*

Had it for about 2weeks now, and so far it does everything as promised with no leaks! My biggest complaints about it are as follows...1. The dripper tray under the hot water pour is not attached to the base in any way, leaving me to have to carefully wipe around it, or the pieces will go flying.2. The carafe lid does not always align correctly to the pour spout, making the coffee drip out to the side.3. You have to tilt the carafe all the way over (almost upside down) to get the last cup (annoying, but not the worst)4. The coffee takes forever to pour with the lid on, and I have adjusted, but not moved on.5. I have noticed that on the bottom of every cup there is a dark "sludge" for lack of a better word, its not gross, just new to me. My husband thinks its because we are brewing the coffee to strong. Probably why it takes so long to pour, haha.6. I worry about all the steam as if wafts up over the electronic features, as I worry that it will someday become a problem with their ability to function.A few things to love...1. Even though it can be hard to pour water into the basin, the lid is shaped just so, so that if you miss the water will not spill over behind the machine.2. If you love HOT coffee, this machine is for you. Same with the tea. No idea how long this will keep up, but its been great so far.3. The filter does a great job, not a ground yet to be found in my cup!4. It looks good on my counter!5. Though I thought I would use the timing option more, it is still really easy to use and set up. It also functioned marvelously.Overall the husband and I agree that we have good feelings about the machine, and rated it at four stars because of a few minor things that we felt could have been improved upon with little thought by the manufacturer. Hope that was helpful!

Good for hot water, not as great for coffee

*by L***N on Reviewed in the United States 🇺🇸 on January 5, 2015*

I bought this because we wanted an instant hot water dispenser, which our previous

Mr. Coffee BVMC-PSTX91 Optimal Brew 10-Cup Thermal Coffeemaker, Black/Stainless Steel

didn't have. That is a great feature of the Cuisinart, and we are probably drinking more tea as a result since it's more convenient now. It's also great for filling a French press. The Cuisinart also has replaceable charcoal water filters. However, after using the Cuisinart for a while, I'm wishing I'd bought a dedicated hot water dispenser instead and kept the Mr. Coffee. The features the Mr. Coffee had that the Cuisinart is missing are:Basket filters - much easier to use than the triangular #4 filters the Cuisinart uses, which are harder to insert and have to be filled in the unit since they don't stand up on their own.A removable reservoir, so the Cuisinart is much harder to fill and impossible to drain if overfilled. The brew light doesn't stay on after brewing is finished. The nice thing about the Mr. Coffee is that since the light stays on for a few hours, if someone made coffee already, you can tell that it's still hot since the carafe keeps it warm for that long. With no light, it's impossible to tell with the Cuisinart if any coffee in the pot is still hot without testing it.Also, with both the coffee maker and the hot water dispenser in the same unit, if one of them breaks down, the entire thing would have to be replaced. When that happens I will probably go back to the Mr. Coffee and a separate dedicated hot water dispenser.

loved it but first had to be replaced and then ...

*by J***Q on Reviewed in the United States 🇺🇸 on July 24, 2017*

This is my first Cuisinart coffee/hot water product but my third Cuisinart coffee maker. Alas, the reason I'm writing is because I just had to "order" a fourth. I had two Grind & Brews...loved it but first had to be replaced and then second one died after warranty. I decided to go with this model. I purchased it last July 31 and it has been having electrical issues in the last two months. We were unsure if we forgot to hit the brew button or if one of us turned it off inadvertently. No, there is a definite issue. I called Cuisinart, and since it's under warranty, I get a replacement. It will cost me $10 as well as the cost of shipping back my current one once the new one arrives. I just have a problem with that. I figured the $10 would cover shipping but they said only of new one. If I don't send back the old, it waives my warranty. I asked them instead to make a quality product. Seems like things should last longer than they do nowadays. I just switched out a 32-year-old microwave that actually still works, we had a Jenn-Air for 24 years and our refrigerator is about that old. However, newer products such as a front-load washer and a dishwasher and these coffee pots don't want to have long lives. Saddens me and my wallet.
