The suction cup is incredibly grabby. I've applied and removed it as least 3 times as I struggled to find the right spot. I assumed it wouldn't stick to my textured dashboard so I tried the windshield, didn't like it there; then I put it on the side window, until I went driving on a hot afternoon and realized how dumb an idea that was; but having seen by then how impressive the suction cup was, I went head and tried it on the dashboard, and it worked perfectly! The hinges are a bit less impressive, they do loosen, but they're not terrible, and luckily the position I mounted it in doesn't really require the hinges maintain much rigidity anyway. Also it's cool pressing the button to release your phone from the holder -- the arms open up gently in a really satisfying way that makes it seem like they're powered by some electronics (I don't think they are...).The first car phone mount I bought came from Walgreens, and it was the awful kind that clips to a slat on your a/c vent (and eventually breaks it if you're not careful). Hinges didn't hold up at all, and installing the phone was a bit of a hassle (two hands required). This one is very much better in every single facet, despite being only about 1/3 the price of the earlier one. I recommend it!

The phone holder is good. It is sturdy. Though be very sure of the position before using the adhesive plate and suction mount. They do not come off. Adhesive is way too strong.Otherwise this mount is pretty easy to use. I like how soft is the release lever.
