A: Yes this is the old Grade B.  Left unopened it will last for years.  Once opened it needs to be refrigerated.

A: The USDA changed the grading standards on pure maple syrup.  Now all pure maple syrup is graded as Grade A.  The new grade for Grade B syrup is Grade A dark robust.
