There is a lock nut on each side of the hub. For road bike with a quick release that OLD is normally 130mm. A road bike with a rear disc brake or a mountain bike with a quick release it's normally 135mm. These will work with 130mm, but not 135mm. Having bought these, I later bought a pair of Hexlox axles. While they are more than twice the price ($28), the Hexlox skewers are a little lighter, but feel a lot more sturdy and secure.
