A good feel to the sole. Wouldn't want to run a marathon in them but for a 3 to 4 mile run they're not too bad. If you want a running shoe though, buy a running shoe. These are a comfortable trainer not a dedicated running shoe. My only negative. After the first week, when putting the shoe on, the back caves in slightly. It felt like a piece of cardboard crumpling and since then the heel support at the back of the shoe has been abit floppy but doesn't affect the shoe too much and doesn't interfere with comfort. I use these for the gym and they do the job.
