Made in the USA, this tool empowers homeowners and professionals alike to maintain their culverts efficiently and effectively, ensuring optimal drainage and preventing costly blockages. ## Description The tool is a hoe like device with a pivoting joint which can be pushed in the culvert on top of the debris and is then activated by pulling the tool back out. MADE in the USA. The pulling action causes the tool to dive down into the debris and then you simply pull it out. It is made totally out of steel so it is very durable. The handle of the unit is 1/2" threaded steel pipe ( which is not included with the tool because it is not economical for us to send you pipe through the mail) you can pick up a length of 1/2 pipe at your local plumbing supply or home center. For a extra long culvert like mine I needed (3) 10 foot lengths of pipe connected together with pipe couplings, but for most residential jobs one length of pipe is more than enough. You only need a long enough handle to get a little more than half way through the culvert, then you clean half the culvert from each end, so for a 12 foot long culvert an 8 foot long piece of pipe would be more than enough. For a longer culvert simply add more pieces of pipe. We stock sizes for standard 8", 10", 12",14" and 18" culverts, the tools are made smaller than the I.D. of the culvert to allow for clearance.(the 18" tool is for 18" diameter culverts and the 12" tool is for 12" diameter culvert pipes). I used the shovel to remove enough material to allow the cleaner to be inserted in the culvert. It took a few hours, but the tool completely removed the material from the culvert. All that was required was to insert the tool in the culvert and pull it back out, many times. Also used the tool on a second culvert that was partially blocked with gravel. A couple of tips to make the cleaning easier: works better with damp material and cleaning from the downstream side is more efficient as the material is densely packed on the upstream side due to hydraulic pressure packing it in. Now that I have the proper tools, regular cleaning out the culverts will be easy and inexpensive. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Works well *by D***N on November 11, 2021* This actually works well. I used 1" X 30' PVC for the pole with a 1/2" male thread adapter on the end.My 28 foot culvert is now looking good again. Thanks for this great product. ### ⭐ Immediately Bent *by K***R on September 10, 2021* I bought this product to clean several 18 inch culverts. The piece bent on first pull coming through the culvert. For this to work it needs to weigh at minimum 50 pounds and have a tractor pull it through.We have thrown away this tool, and welded two old truck tire rims together with a chain on either end that we can pull back and forth through the culverts.
