I did a bit of research beforehand and made sure to season it properly before using (lots of lovely people have also given tips in the reviews, which I found very very helpful). Unfortunately if you don't follow the instructions then it WILL rust. I am a newbie and have used this 4 times so far. A little bit of sticking, but that's normal for a new wok and will subside over time. But generally I'm really happy with this, and super glad that I got the smaller size, which is still more than enough for a meal for 1/2 people. It has a weight to it, so the helper handle is much appreciated. Handles are firmly screwed on. Will update review if anything changes, but for now - super happy customer. Pictures show the wok after the first 'blueing' and after the first 3 layers of seasoning. It took about an hour end to end to wash, blue and put three layers of seasoning on. Review: Don’t buy - The worst wok I’ve ever brought, I washed it before using, and whilst cooking mince meat in it all inside stuff was coming off the metal and the smell was disgusting, so I binned the food I was cooking, I cleaned it and it looked a mess. You will need to season it before you use it and from time to time after that. We use metal tools all the time - there is no non-stick surface to damage. However, I wonder if you used plastic tools the seasoning would last longer. On the other hand the tools might wear out: **Q: Are the wooden handles detachable so that it can be seasoned in the oven?** A: No, the handles are not detachable.
