If it's not broke, don't fix it! This boot is stiffer than Merrel and Keen boots. This is a positive if you are on uneven trails and/or backpacking. The stability in the ankle and heel are superior to those brands as well. These are my go to boots for hiking off trail, Comfort is from the thicker cushioning in the heel and mid. I normally switch out insoles but kept the Oboz brand since they do a great job. I had these out in melting snow and mud. Feet were kept dry the whole time.
