Once you have achieved proper tension, you can use the guy ropes to make minor adjustments and re-tension the shelter if you need it after it has been placed for a while. Another common misconception is that shelters are pulled too far to the rear, not creating enough separation of the rear awning from the ground and creating too much slack in the front vestibule. To correct this, bring the three back stakes closer and move the front, the main stake further. Make sure to reduce stress on the vent corners by unhooking the door or simultaneously sliding the Prussik loop. The support pole should be at a slight angle with the tip inserted into the pole pocket at the apex. Launch with trekking pole. One of the most common mistakes we see on the courts is that people throw their Lunar Solos with their trekking pole handle pointing upwards. This places the handle inside the apex/vent area of the Lunar Solo. Although the Lunar Solo can be launched this way, it was not designed for this type of configuration and some issues occur. When the main line is tensioned, a lot of extra stress is put on the vents and seams of your shelter's apex. It also puts stress on the vestibule zipper, which could cause problems when closing your foyer. To avoid this stress, launch the Lunar Solo with the tip-up. There is a Hypalon sheath (rubber-like material) that can be found at the apex of the shelter into which the tip of the hiking pole enters. The throwing tip on the sleeve allows for proper passage while preventing the tip of the hiking pole from puncturing the canopy. We designed the Lunar Solo this way for a couple of reasons: using a case allows both the use of hiking poles and the use of folding poles. By placing the handle down, your pole is less likely to sink into the ground if your camp is in a location with soft or damp ground. The Lunar Solo, with its unique pole and raised canopy, creates an incredibly light and airy retreat. Unlike other tents with set up fixed points, the floating canopy and ground design require a little more patience to master. Still, Lunar Solo's weight saving makes it worth the effort. Note: the weight does not include stakes or pole. Support poles and stakes sold separately. A: It comes with guy lines, no tent stakes. Requires six (6) stakes. I recommend titanium. Dont forget, it also requires one (1) trekking pole for set up.

Second, the newest design is noted by the fact that it is all one color. No black vent. No black floor. It's all green or gray. Also, you will find we use reflective material in the main and corner guy lines.  Finally, all new models of the Solo are constructed from 100% Silicone coated Polyester material reducing fabric stretch and packed volume. SilNylon is no longer used to build the Lunar Solo.
