He can’t yet sit up independently (he’s wobbly), or walk. We needed to minimize risk of injury as he takes on his world. This helmet provided instant peace of mind. We’ve had the helmet a week and he wears it whenever he’s mobile and playing on the ground. He resisted when we placed the helmet on his head, at first, but it was literally minutes before he didn’t mind wearing it and went in with his day. When he tips over, even more a week later, he is momentarily startled and maybe upset but he just looks around and realizes he’s not hurt then resumes playing, exploring, learning. I live in Texas. The foam causes sweat in temps greater than 70degrees. To avoid a smelly cradle cap or fungal infection on our little one’s head, when the helmet became sweaty and smelly, I took it off. I used Dr. Bronner’s brand Pure Castile Soap -tea tree. And put the liquid soap on a paper towel. Whiped it on and left for 10min. Then I wet a new paper towel and whiped the Castile soap off. Good as new.
