From the technological geniuses behind the Foscam brand, these badboys are exactly what the doctor ordered for the IT network geek out there who likes to set up their own network by their own rules. No stupid "bla bla bla needs proprietary android stupid whatever iphone or 3rd party software application service contract bullcrap." You don't need to sign your life away with some cloud service somewhere that's probably spying on you, and could start charging you literally any second, won't ever deny that, and will laugh all the way to the bank as they do it. So this has none of that!It simply has a CD, or you can go to their website download the little detection application. Plug it the cam into your network, power it on obviously, run the detection, it shows up, double click, follow login instructions, and everything's there you need to know. From there you can hook it into whatever system you're already running, or just use that. It's really that simple, literally everything is there exactly like setting up a router. No stupid 3rd party garbage to hook you in or steal your stuff.Look what it has. Wifi, yes. Wired, yes. Power supply, yes. Robust metal weatherproof armor housing, yes. 3 articulating point with top and bottom anchor points which means you can mount this thing however you want, wherever you want. Night vision IR up to 100 feet, yep! 6mm lens, yep!Amazing. Exactly what I was looking for. Skyreo/Foscam is the real deal. This isn't some rebranded Chinese knockoff. This is AWESOME hardware. I paid for this cam, and I already ordered another one. I'm writing this review because 80% of the cams out there are rebranded knockoffs trying to hook you into scam services, the rest are great cams but cost a fortune! ...but this camera is legit and awesome! When ... *by E***. on Reviewed in the United States on August 20, 2016* I got it cheap from Amazon Warehouse Deals. When I tried to set it up, the wifi was not working. I scanned available wifi around, but nothing came up. Because I got it cheap, I disassembled it to see what was wrong. Of course, the wifi module was loose from the system board. I reconnected it, and the wifi was working perfectly.UPDATE: I successfully upgraded with the latest firmware and webUI for Foscam FI8905W, and now it's working as Foscam FI8905W.UPDATE2: Wifi is definitely weaker compared to the other Foscam models I have. I ended up using connecting it wired. 6mm lens is not as useful for most applications as the usual 4mm lens.UPDATE3: It died about a few weeks ago after some heavy rain. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Perfect wireless IP camera. Ask a system administer to configure it if u cannot get it viewable on the Internet. *by J***N on Reviewed in the United States on April 2, 2016* I can make this ip camera viewable on the internet network without a problem. Following the steps displayed on the product page, one should have no problem to view the camera on intranet. Then the rest is passing through the firewall(s). Time warner's routers are simplier (one single line to configure) while AT&T router is more difficult (select the particular ip first, following by configuring the address for both tcp and udp, and then add the setting to firewall). Also, if u have more than one router (for example, you r using wifi extender or ur modem can function as a router as well), you have to open the firewall on each router on the path. The app for smartphone is called FoscamViewer. GOOD LUCK.BTW, this product is very good except the outside coating is kind of rough.I've bought five of them.
