**Q: I don’t understand why there are peanuts when African greys shouldn’t have them**
A: That's a debatable issue really - -some avian vets will so no peanuts, some will say some, some say it's okay only if they are not in the shell - the alfatoxin issue is on the shell and so that is not generally an issue with peanuts out of the shell.  If fat were an issue with African Greys, I'm not sure why avian vets recommend the high potency version of Harrisons pellets, which is higher in fat, for Greys.  As with humans, unless a bird has a specific issue with a food, it's all about moderation.

A: We give our grey peanuts all the time. I didn’t know he shouldn’t have them. But we’ve only had him for 25 years or so.

**Q: Chewy sells this same 4 pound bag for $14.92.  That seems like like you are a little over-priced?**
A: Remember that you have to add on shipping at Chewy, unless you're buying $35 worth of product.

I don’t give my birds very much seed, but they get a little of this every day because it’s not full of a lot of junk seed. I get fresh and pellets for the biggest part of their diet.
